Learning outcomes: • Identify and describe different intelligence sources, including electronic and open-source data, and explain their relevance to police intelligence work. • Utilise basic tools to collect and process intelligence data and generate reports based on that information. • Apply basic critical thinking skills to evaluate intelligence information and make informed decisions about how to proceed with investigations. • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills when sharing intelligence with colleagues and other stakeholders. • Follow established guidelines for handling and using intelligence data and demonstrate an understanding of the importance of protecting individual privacy and civil liberties. • Describe the intelligence cycle and its various stages, including planning and direction, collection, processing and exploitation, analysis and production, dissemination, and evaluation. • Understand basic principles of intelligence operations, including risk management and contingency planning, and how they support effective decision-making and operational success.
